It’s always a good idea to have a first aid kit around for yourself and your family, so why should your pet be any different? Setting up a first aid kit for your pet is very easy. A lot of the supplies you can use on yourself can also be used on your pet. You may already have some supplies around your house! All the supplies can be bought online, at your local drugstore, and at pet stores. Always be mindful of expiration dates for some of the supplies.
Keep your kit in a safe place that's easily accessible in your house, or even in your car.

Supplies:
Gauze squares/rolls
Vet wrap/self-adhesive wrap
Bandage scissors: have a rounded safety tip on the bottom blade
Triple antibiotic ointment
Kwik stop styptic powder: helps stop bleeding, good for nail trims
Quick read thermometer
Water-based, sterile lube for the thermometer
Isopropyl alcohol
Hydrogen peroxide
Optional supplies:
Vetericyn Plus: this is a really great antimicrobial spray for all animals that can be used for cuts, hotspots, skin irritation, sores, etc.
Muzzle: sometimes a pet in pain may react by nipping or biting
Sterile eyewash (saline): works not just for eyes, but also works well for cleaning wounds
Adhesive medical tape
Thermometer covers
Hair clippers
These supplies are great for minor scrapes and wounds, as well as for general wellness. Of course if your pet suffers a more serious injury get them to your vet, or an emergency vet, as soon as you can.
